Donnie Womack, 1941-2021


Donnie G. Womack, 79, of La Porte, Ind., passed away peacefully at 7:05 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 27, 2021, in Walkerton, Ind.

He was born May 15, 1941, in Rock Island, Tenn., to Orah and Dora (Masters) Womack.

Donnie worked at Kingsley Furniture, La Porte, for 33 years and was a master artisan in upholstery. He retired from New York Blower, La Porte. Donnie was a lifetime member of Moose Lodge, PNA, PRCU and the Eagles. He loved bowling, working with upholstery, socializing, singing karaoke and dancing.

Surviving are his children, Connie (Larry) Rardin of La Porte, Danette Summers of Graham, Wash., Ann Womack of La Porte and Mike (Chris) Womack of La Porte; two step-children, Diane Kammer of Madison, Wis., and Chris (Tammy) Crutchfield of Gig Harbor, Wash.; former wife, Billie Womack of La Porte; three sisters-in-law, Karen Womack, Gloria Womack and Joan Womack; 11 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, and cousins; and special friend, Robin Sickman.

Preceding him in death were his parents; wife, Rae Ann Womack; one son, Ricky Humphrey; four brothers, Will Womack, Perry Womack, Sim Womack and Bob Womack; and one sister, Ruth Donelson.

A visitation and viewing celebrating his life will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, March 4, at Lakeview Funeral Home and Crematory, La Porte. A private burial will take place in Pine Lake Cemetery, La Porte.

    Im sorry for loss of your dad he was a special man I got to meet him years ago and I kniw Robin my sister in law ❤ love him dearly love visiting him every time I came to Indiana RIP Don 🙏
