St. Paul’s Episcopal lists Holy Week schedule
Holy Week services at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 1000 Michigan Ave., La Porte, began with a Palm Sunday service at 9 a.m. March 28, when for the first time in more than a year, the congregation could sing the hymns. Everyone wore a mask to cover both nose and mouth and was encouraged to sing softly, as if singing a lullaby to a baby. Soloist Mona Coalter still sang from another room with a microphone. Everyone was given a cross made from a palm as they entered the church. Six members of the parish read The Passion.
— Maundy Thursday Holy Communion will be at 6 p.m., followed by the stripping of the altar.
— The Good Friday service will be at noon.
— On Easter Sunday there will be two services, the spoken service at 7:30 a.m. and the sung Eucharist at 9 a.m.
Registrations are appreciated for all services. Links are available at www.stpaulslaporte.org. Please note that everyone must be masked and will be socially distanced.
