Draft Horse Association’s Spring Plow Day postponed to April 18

On Sunday, April 18, the La Porte County Draft Horse Association will host its Spring Plow Day at the historical Door Prairie Round Barn on U.S. 35 South, La Porte. Plowing will start at 11 a.m. (The event was postponed from April 11 because of predicted rain.)

The public is invited to come and watch the different breeds of draft horses pulling implements in the field. This is a free event; social distancing is required. The viewing public should park in the La Porte County Historical Society Museum parking lot. Event parcipants with horse trailers will park to the north of  the round barn. The address of the museum is 2405 Indiana Ave.

The La Porte County Draft Horse Association is dedicated to the education, preservation and exhibition of all draft horse breeds. Each event provides the opportunity to capture the interest of future generations, ensuring that this important piece of American life is preserved.

Updates on this event, such as weather delays, may be found on the club’s website, laportecodrafthorse.org, and the club’s Facebook and Instagram pages.
