The La Porte Slicers improved their record to 6-2 with an 8-0 win over South Bend Riley Saturday morning, April 10. La Porte held Riley to one hit and played well defensively while the Wildcats struggled at the plate. Coach Scott Upp told WNLP, “I’m glad to see a win, however this wasn’t our best game of the season so far. We need to see improvement with our hitting.” Slicer junior Caeden George, who pitched a complete game, was the winning pitcher. The Slicers’ next game will be a doubleheader at Goshen on Saturday, April 17. The first game starts at 11 a.m. and the second at 1 p.m.

Junior Caeden George fires a pitch from the mound during his complete-game performance.

Coach Upp sends Jackson Land around third base and on his way to the plate following a triple by Jayden Parkes.

Slicer Kade Flores beats out a throw to first base.
