A handful of guests (and some fortunate neighbors) had the opportunity to enjoy music from an up-and-coming country music star Monday, April 12, on a bluff overlooking Stone Lake.

Bethany Lutheran Church Pastor Dennis Meyer, with the assistance of church Outreach Director Carey Garwood, put together the event at Meyer’s home to show appreciation for the many volunteers who help with the numerous community-focused projects the church leads.

Drew Baldridge, who was raised in the small country town of Patoka in southern Illinois, performed as part of his “Baldridge and Bonfires” tour. He played several songs he wrote, including “Beach Ain’t One,” which is featured in a new YouTube video rapidly gaining attention (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7eVuNPzupjE).

Folks walking along the path next to the lake stopped and listened, then clapped and shouted their approval.
