Firefighters from several departments were called to a structure fire in the 3100 east block of Michigan Boulevard shortly after 9 a.m. Thursday morning, April 15. A metal and wood pole barn approximately 40 feet by 60 feet was engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived.

An arial unit from Michigan City Fire Department fought the blaze from Michigan Boulevard while fire crews battled from the ground on the south side of the structure.
