Watch LPHS Radio/TV students’ video on La Porte’s promising future

La Porte High School Radio/TV students Isaac Chezem and Grant Ott-Large have produced a well-received video focusing on La Porte’s progress even in the face of the pandemic.

“Isaac and I are in the LPHS radio/TV course taught by Don Varda,” Ott-Large told WNLP. “We competed in a statewide project called the Indiana Association of School Broadcasters. We did it on the development in the City of La Porte with an interview with Tom Dermody. We thought we’d share it as it has a lot of quality information for the community.”

“The judging for this contest will be May 12 and we chose this topic because we believe that La Porte can be ‘the place to be,’ as Mayor Dermody said in the video,” Ott-Large said. “We think the community will come together and unite as a whole after the pandemic. With all the developments in the downtown and the rest of the area, it will provide many opportunities for citizens to work and live.

“Our Radio/TV class taught by Don Varda has given us the access to high-tech cameras and all the equipment we need to make the best video. Isaac and I edited this video within 2 weeks and hope to be in the top finalists in the state! #LaPorteProud”
