Donna Crosthwait, 1928-2021


Donna Mae Crosthwait, 92, of La Porte, Ind., passed away peacefully at 12:37 a.m. Friday, April 30, 2021, in her home.

She was born June 26, 1928, in Stillwell, Ind., to Lloyd and Elsie (Bartz) Bunton.

Donna graduated from Mill Creek High School. She retired in 1986 from Clark Equipment, Michigan City, Ind., after 27 years. Donna enjoyed gardening, crossword puzzles, watching TV, collecting Norman Rockwell plates and pictures, and traveling to Hawaii and Germany. She especially enjoyed caring for her family.

On April 16, 1949, in Kingsbury, Ind., she married Earl Victor Crosthwait, who preceded her in death in 1988.

Also preceding her in death were her parents; one son, Robert E. Crosthwait; and two sisters, Lorraine Bunton and Beverly Holiday.

Surviving are her two children, Lance (Mary) Crosthwait of New Mexico and Lu Ann (Douglas) Davie of La Porte; one brother, Lloyd Bunton of Knox, Ind.; four grandchildren, Brandon (Kelli) Davie, Brian Davie, Erica (Ian) Barclay and Jenell Davie, all of La Porte; and five great-grandchildren.

Cremation will take place. There will be no service. Burial will take place in Swan Lake Memorial Gardens, Michigan City. Lakeview Funeral Home and Crematory, La Porte, is handling arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to a charity of the donor’s choice.
