The La Porte City Council is favorable to the plan for the establishment of playgrounds in every section of the city.

1971

John P. Daley, La Porte Jaycees first president, swears in Ed Bowers as the new La Porte Jaycees president. Bowers also gets the Key Man and Outstanding Spark Plug awards.

1996

Residents of the Glendale subdivision southeast of La Porte will be able to drive, walk and in-line skate on newly paved asphalt roads for the first time in years.

2011

After getting blitzed at Lake Central, losing 10-0 in five innings, La Porte’s baseball team beats the No. 1 Indians 4-2 in an hour and 25 minutes at Schreiber Field.
