Patricia “Tricia” Kessler, 1959-2021

Patricia “Tricia” Ann Kessler, 61, of La Porte, Ind., passed away Friday, April 23, 2021, at Northwest Health – La Porte.

She was born June 26, 1959, to Victor F. and Lucille (Parthun) Kessler in La Porte.

Tricia worked for almost 42 years at Howmet Aerospace from Aug. 6, 1979, until her passing. She taught CPR classes and first responder classes for several years. Tricia was the senior first responder at Howmet Aerospace. She attended Purdue North Central and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in liberal studies. Tricia worked for many years for Superior Ambulance Service as a driver and EMT, a job that she loved. Tricia was always fascinated with the medical field and the rewarding feeling it gave her to be able to help others.

Tricia had a heart for the less fortunate and elderly. She would always come up with ideas to help those in need. Tricia would collect personal items and supplies and take to them to the nursing home. She would keep the residents company, play games, or just listen to their stories.

The most important accomplishment to Tricia was when she was able to reconnect with God and become part of a church family. She was a member of First Assembly of God, where she volunteered, serving refreshments, handing out information and other various activities. She had a passion for God and loved serving Him. Tricia loved attending service, singing, dancing, fellowshipping, and worshiping her Lord and Savior. Tricia was also a member of the Women of Grace, where she was the beverage server. She cherished her Bible study group, “The Dragonflies,” which helped her blossom in her relationship with Christ and encounters with others. She also enjoyed painting, sewing her own clothes and making crafts.

Surviving are her brother, Bruce (Donna) Kessler of Tucson, Ariz.; nephews, Michael, Christopher, Steven and Alan Kessler; niece, Melinda Inestroza; sister-in-law, Mary Kessler; and friend, Jasmine Gonzalez.

Patricia was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Ronald and Wesley Kessler; and sister-in-law, Carol Kessler (Wesley’s wife).

A Celebration of Life Memorial will be held Friday, May 14, at 5 p.m. with fellowship to follow in the Pat J. Smith Hall at Red Mill County Park, 0185 S. Holmesville Rd., La Porte.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the La Porte Assembly of God, 224 E. Boyd Blvd., La Porte, Ind. 46350.

Ron, family and friends – so very sorry for to her of her passing. Pat was a one of a kind, spunky, feisty person with a touch of drama. A huge heart for others and just like the “Energizer Bunny”, she had lots of reserve power! RIP Trish!
