Column by Spencer England: Where have all the conservative Republicans gone?

WNLP editor’s note: This column was submitted by Spencer England of La Porte.

While the Titanic was sinking, musicians on board continued to play, seemingly ignoring the threat of imminent death. Republicans as a party are not much different. As the Democrats work to destroy and sink America, Republicans do little to nothing to stop the destruction of the United States.

Spencer England

Democrats have a less than competent leader on top of their ranks. Nonetheless, they continue to score countless victories throughout the past few months, including a decimated border, destruction of privately owned businesses, and socialist atrocities such as trillions and  trillions of stimulus money essentially stolen from Americans who haven’t even been born yet.

I wish I was speaking out of context or even in a way my feelings could only be construed as a fantasy. Sadly, though, it is truth. Literally, America is falling apart at the seams as  we speak. America seemingly floats aimlessly on the sea like a vessel without a captain bound to hit the rocks at some point in the near future.

How have we gotten to this point? Not because Democrats have had control of the three  legislative bodies for four years. We are here because Republicans have seemingly done little to  prevent this from happening. They have had every opportunity to pursue an agenda that would  strengthen America and build a future for our children. The problem was that we had a leader  who could only do his part; Trump could only cheer for his ideas, and Congress and elected  leaders had to be the ones to do the job they were hired to do by constituents — but they  failed.

Locally in Indiana, it could not be more true. Just two weeks ago, Indiana was on the verge to definitively pass a constitutional change that would have rightly represented the people of our great state. Did the Democrats ruin that freedom  for Hoosiers? No, it was Republican Liz Brown (from Fort Wayne) who voted no, citing unfounded police union safety statistics. Thanks, Judas.

Additionally, recently here in La Porte County, Republicans had the chance to elect a  Republican president to the county council. With a 4-to-3 vote, Republicans could again represent the voters’ voices who put them into office. What happened? Bickering amongst themselves, a Republican majority council voted a Democrat into that position and gave away more power to the other party.

And who can forget only four years ago, our very own former Mayor Blair Milo, currently serving RINO (Republican in Name Only) Eric Holcomb. After being nominated to be a delegate and represent her party and vote for Mr. Trump, she decided to make a personal decision and withdraw, citing that she was still struggling to decide who to vote for. Basically, she told the thousands of LaPorte County Republican voters that she knew better than they did, and that Hillary may be a better choice. Look at the contrasts of the two candidates — whose side was she really on?

My question to the readers of this article is: Have you noticed how GOP officeholders only act conservative when they have no power? They could have worked with Trump to control the border. They could have reduced the debt. They could have repealed numerous bad laws, including Obamacare. They could have implemented an America First foreign policy. However, nothing was done; it was the same old act, different day. I wish voters would wake up. We need  fighters, not the same old establishment nonsense.

Republicans have done nothing to stop the downfall of the country when the authority was theirs. Locally, we must make smarter choices for candidates. We need to openly call out those who switch parties simply because they can win. Several Republican elected officials are not Republican at all. They represent values most conservatives do not hold dear. Look at Duane Perry, for example. As a registered Democrat his entire adult life, he decided to switch parties,  won the office of Mayor, and then went against everything Republicans believe in, spoke disgustingly toward African-American constituents — and not one Republican has filed anything to officially have him removed from the party. What does that say about the party of Abraham Lincoln?

Mainstream media continues its socialist propaganda outpouring of misrepresented facts  and racially separating lies. We must fight, as Trump did. Rallies should be planned in every city in America. Politicians on either side need to be called out for going against the cause of their  constituents and made to be held to the party standards that they promised to adhere to. We  CANNOT wait until 2022 midterms to start making change. WE MUST START NOW! If not,  we will not be able to reverse the course Biden and his band of misfits have put us on. We need  heroes stepping up today, both nationally and on the local level.

Local involvement can create change most effectively. It is where it all begins: the  grassroots. Remember your vote and hold officials accountable to those values. We are only a vote here and a vote there from becoming a full-blown, radical socialist totalitarian nation.

We cannot wait for the Republican Party; they are too busy playing music while we sink.

It’s amazing how hypocritical the left is. What’s more amazing is that Republicans are doing nothing to call them on it. Unreal.

Never-Trumpers… a demonic spirit of hatred easily inflamed into a furor by the meer mention of a name. It turns the heart of those who embrace it black. These folks have come into agreement with the devil, and allowed him to not only infiltrate their minds with poison rage (for a person they have never met) but invited the enemy to turn them into loathing haters. Satan has such a tight grip on these pathetic souls they are paralyzed with the ability to do nothing but stand behind an initial or silly moniker, call names and shout accusations.

I think its safe to say that the “never trumpers” ended up being right. Time to let it go, chalk up the loss, we were duped. We have to rebuild and re-brand.

Never thought I would see an article like this La Porte County.
I agree with all you say.
Council person Shiela {what ever her name is this year} is a good example. Mayor of M.C. resigns, moves out west comes back years later and is elected to a county seat. Carpet bagging at its best.
Let’s face it The G.O.P is dead in this county and soon in the U.S.A.
what with election fraud, packing the court, killing the filibuster, making Washington D.C. a state to gain two more senators, unemployment give aways, free money if you have kids. I could go on but you get the point.
We may well never see another conservative president.
    No, make that never.

I agree with absolutely everything said here. If you’re too blind to see the path former “Republican” elected officials have set us down then there’s no hope for you. Clearly the Demonrats want to do everything possible to further the great reset and the only actual Republican who stood in their way has been silenced, banished, and called a nut job. In four months, Biden has created mass unemployment and somehow a massive labor shortage at the same time, he’s killed Keystone, he’s unfixed the problem at the border, and he’s put us deeper in debt than any President in history. Where are the Republicans to stop him from doing this like the Demonrats did to Trump for so many years?

And yes, Milo was terrible. State employees salaries are listed online. Go look up Milo and tell me how she created a job for herself to essentially find other people jobs (which was a system that already existed) and she makes over $50,000 more per year than the damn Governor!

Wow another article to laugh at! You have to get over Trump seriously. The reason the Republican party has changed is because of trump. You say Duane Perry flipped parties but you forget to say your messiah trump did too. What’s the difference trump wasn’t a conservative but you still praise him. Let me tell you something Republicans will never care about the working class which is why they vote against ever union bill proposed. watching Biden talk about the the right to organize and cutting child poverty in half and not one Republican claps is embarassing. If you represent the laporte Republican party you need to be canceled!

I love all the FBI comments. Out of curiosity I looked that up. Not only when you type “FBI” into Google the capitol “riot” is the second link to come up but also the vast majority of people wanted are simply standing around holding American flags. I guess it’s a federal offense to be a patriot these days. Not a single person injured by one of the “rioters” and only one window damaged and it’s called “domestic terrorism”. Meanwhile the rest of the country had been consistently destroyed for over seven months, part of a city had been taken over, dozens of people were killed, businesses burned to the ground, and it was called a “peaceful protest” over the death of some drug addict. Absolutely NOTHING was done about it. And in case you didn’t know, it’s still happening. Some of us aren’t blind and are watching our country die at the hands of psychopaths.

What do you mean not a single person was injured? The Capitol Police Union reported 140 officers were injured. You can’t just lie to suit your narrative.

The malignant narcissist with psychopathic tendencies was our last President. And yes, 5 people died as a result of the riots, but you wouldn’t know that by listening to a far right echo chamber of lies and hatred.
Trump was the worst president in history, and all who worship him have been hoodwinked. It’s a cult of personality now, not the Republican party.
All our leaders sold out and worship only the bronze bull of Wall St. Not a golden calf, but the same on the eyes of God.

I quit being a Republican when Newt Gingrich and Trent Lott went back on their word on the Contract with America. Remember this “as long as the feed trough is full, the pigs will never pull their heads out of the trough even as the slaughter house truck backs up to the gate”. Do you think that politicians are giving checks to citizens because they’re just good and caring benefactors?? How many people do you know that become multi millionaires ( and their family members) by helping the poor and disadvantaged. When a country is being led by leaders who have no fear of God (doesn’t exist) nor man. the outcome has never changed, They are the law and the interpreter of the law. Our founding Fathers put the constitution together
, in such a way as to make it understandable when the political process gets off track. Give yourself a nice little trip back in history. Check out how many millions were killed by their own governments in the name of progress. Those governmental styles are called communism and socialism. “But it is for the good of the people!!”

You are correct when you say we’ve had all the opportunity any party could ask for, but chose to follow ego instead of conscience. Over many decades, the decline has flourished when democrats remain in lock-step with long-range vision to achieve their purpose in turning a republic into a controlled state, and republicans have tripped over each other trying to prove their worth. It’s a spiral Trump tried to interrupt, but as stated above, got zero help from those who pretended to support him. Paul Ryan was first in line to block the transformation, followed by Mitch McConnell who still reigns supreme over a party who continues to blunder. There may be a couple true hearts out there, but if they make a move as Trump did, they will be crucified as Trump was.

All people with racist or homophobic views went from being Democrats to Republicans. There’s some reason why these people are finding a home in the GOP. The GOP should be more worried about having people like that in the ranks of the party than the silly boogeyman of “RINOs.” If the party continues to look and act like Trump the Man Baby, it’ll be good if the party continues to lose. We need a Republican Party that looks more like the great Indiana Senator Dick Lugar.

Notice the liberals from both sides typing in and angry about a Republican / conservative issue entirely,. A conversation that does not really concern them. Are they worried that a friend might get their feelings hurt ? Trump stoked a fire thats been burning for a long time in this country, a-75 million strong forrest fire that raged across the land,–Real patriots,..real veterans, workers,.businessmen –who actually love (take action) for their country even when its not popular . War drums are beating down the street , mingled with the sound of heavy real patriot footsteps
the occasional clang of metal, and that forrest fire sweeping up behind them,.. this is one fire the clickes wont put out.Step aside political suck ups —-“The blazing fire of freedom is coming through.

    …oh what a tangled web we weave,……
