Patrick Riley, 1958-2021


Patrick Duane Riley, 62, of La Porte, Ind., passed away peacefully Thursday, May 13, 2021. He was surrounded by his family.

He was born Aug. 6, 1958, in La Porte to Gerald and Mary Lou (Lewis) Riley.

Pat graduated from La Porte High School in 1977.  He worked as a pressman for many years here in La Porte and in San Diego, Calif.

Pat loved his family and close friends and was always there to help anyone in need. He loved cooking, music, concerts and guitars. He loved to make people laugh even on his roughest days.  He was the best husband, father, papa and friend anyone could ask for and will be dearly missed.

On April 18, 1981, Pat married Brenda Lidgard, who survives.

Also surviving are their sons, Trevor Patrick (Maria) Riley of La Porte, Conner Alex Riley of Long Beach, Ind., and Alex Edward Riley of West Lafayette, Ind; four grandchildren, Taylor, Kaylynn, Bailey and Zeta; and four sisters, Deborah (Roger) Pruden of La Porte, Lori (David) Swanson of La Porte, Melody (Willie) Smutzer of La Porte and Shari (Doug) Gardner of La Porte.

He and the family were blessed prior to his passing, and per Pat’s request there will be no service.  Cremation has taken place. Frank L. Keszei Funeral Home, Essling Chapel, La Porte, is handling arrangements.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 130 Red Coach Drive, Mishawaka, Ind. 46545.

    I remember Pat in high school as one of the nicest, most friendly people you could ever hope to meet. So sorry to hear of his passing. This world really needs people like him.
