Library’s Summer Reading Program for kids begins June 7

The La Porte County Public Library system will launch its Summer Reading Program for kids on June 7. The program will use the magical world of reading to go on adventures with animal friends.

Readers up to age 11 can earn prizes and readers ages 12-18 reading goals. Adults can participate as reading role models and may be featured in the library’s weekly newsletter.

Children up to age 11 may also stop by any library location to select a stuffed reading buddy and sign a pledge to read to the buddy for at least 20 minutes each day.

Sign up each reader in your household at Also there, look for weekly updates.
