LP Presbyterian asks: Where’d that come from?

Rev. Jane Anabe’s four-week sermon series, “The Bible Doesn’t Say That!” begins Sunday with “Getting to the Good,” based on Romans 8:18-30. Each week will focus on a phrase frequently heard in America’s culture, paired with one of the Scriptures from which people believe it is derived. The sermon will explore some of the theological and social problems with what each phrase says, looking at the context of the Scripture.

Worship will be indoors every week regardless of COVID threat color and will continue to be offered on Facebook Live and on 89.1 FM in the parking lot, 307 Kingsbury Ave.

Masks are to be worn in the building, including at all times during worship. There will be no congregational singing.

Pews are marked with tape: For Cross Connection at 9 a.m., sit in a red pew; for Traditional Worship at 11 a.m., sit in a blue pew. People from different households may sit together at their discretion; however, it is recommended to do so only if all are fully vaccinated. There is no limit on the number of people allowed in the building as long as sufficient distance is maintained.

Coffee and refreshments will be served outdoors after worship, weather permitting.

A carillon concert will follow the 11 a.m. service.
