Kankakee Valley REMC’s grant benefits La Porte County Symphony children’s concerts

 

Kankakee Valley REMC Operation Round Up Board Member Ed Marks, La Porte County Symphony Orchestra Interim Music Director Chuck Steck, and LCSO Executive Director Tim King.

The La Porte County Symphony Orchestra was recently awarded an Operation Round Up Grant from the Kankakee Valley REMC to support the 33rd Annual Drayton Family Children’s Educational Concerts. The concerts will be held Wednesday, Oct. 13, at the La Porte Civic Auditorium.

Kankakee Valley REMC Operation Round Up joins the Healthcare Foundation of La Porte, Michigan City Community Enrichment Corporation, Psi Iota Xi La Porte Chapter, Walmart #2276 and Kappa Kappa Kappa, Westville Chapter, in supporting the Children’s Educational Concerts, which reach approximately 6,000 students and educators each year.

The mission of the La Porte County Symphony Orchestra is to enrich the lives of people of all ages within and beyond La Porte County through the experience of excellent live orchestra performances. The LCSO is also supported by the Indiana Arts Commission, South Shore Arts, What’s New La Porte, La Porte Herald-Argus, Michigan City News Dispatch, The Beacher, WIMS, 96.7 The Eagle, and Rock 106.5.
