Slicer girls fall to Chesterton in volleyball, 3-2

After 8 non-conference and tournament games to start the season, the Slicers played a conference game and their first official home game Tuesday. It started out well with a dominant first set featuring a composed attack utilizing a lot of motion and combinations. It was an all-around good performance as the block was highly effective and the defensive was digging.

Chesterton committed several ball-handling errors that thwarted any potential attack. Everything after the first set was pretty much a dogfight back and forth. It seemed as though neither team could get on any long runs and it was a closely contested match from there.
Unfortunately for the Slicers, the final three sets did not end with them on top.

Aniya Kennedy had 19 kills, 3 blocks and 19 digs. Bella Meier had 26 assists to go with 6 total blocks. Kate Buckley led all blockers with 9 total blocks. Macy Mrozinski had 3 aces to go along with 10 digs. Lesley Marshall led the defense with 25 digs.
