Cougar girls soccer team loses to Mishawaka

The Cougars put up a good fight but fell to the Mishawaka Cavemen, 8-1, on Thursday.

The Cougars could not seem to find the back of the net, making only 1 of their many chances on offense. The lone goal was scored by Claudia Ruiz, who was able to put some pressure on the Caveman defenses all night.

Chesterton edges Slicer boys tennis team

Chesterton defeated La Porte, 3-2, Thursday.

Nick Boyd set a new career No. 1 singles record with his 57th career win, eclipsing the old mark of 56 set by Levi Hostetler from 2013-2016.

NPHS girls volleyball team defeats Clay

The Cougars won in 3 on the road Thursday against South Bend Clay.

Ellie Michiaels and Haley Robinson each had 8 kills, while Nevaeh Finn contributed 6. Emma Fleck led with 6 aces, 23 assists and 7 digs. Maddie McSurley and Michiaels each had 3 blocks.

LPHS girls soccer team drops 2

LaPorte fell to Crown Point, 7-0, Tuesday. The Slicers fought hard and defended most of the game. The score was 7-0 at half when the game had to be called for lightning.

On Thursday, the Slicers lost to La Lumiere, 6-2. The Lakers were up 4-0 at halftime. La Porte picked it up in the second half, scoring 2.

Slicer girls golfers defeat Wheeler, John Glenn

The La Porte Slicers were able to add two more victories on the season with wins over John Glenn and Wheeler Wednesday at Swan Lake.

A 5th score was used to break the tie to beat John Glenn!

Scores for La Porte included a pair of 44s by Lauren Miskowicz and Kamryn Kubik, along with a pair of 47s by Molly Menne and Ella Schable. Gabby Hull’s 48 was used as the fifth score tiebreaker.

Medalist honors for the match went to John Glenn’s Megan Kobelt with an impressive 1-over-par 37.

Team scores: La Porte 182, John Glenn 182, Wheeler 253.
