LP 4th, NP 6th at 16-team LP Pat Ford Invitational

The Slicers finished 4th and the Cougars 6th at Friday’s Pat Ford Invitational at Beechwood Golf Course.

Culver won the tournament with 306 and Culver’s Kari Teglia was medalist with a 3-under 71.

Tough night Friday for both LP, NP football

The Slicers lost to Chesterton, 42-6, Friday night. The lone LP touchdown was scored by Jayden Parkes.

Mishawaka Marian defeated the Cougars, 33-0, Friday. A 75-yard touchdown pass on the third play from scrimmage set the tone for Marian.

Cougar junior running back Noah Mungia rushed for 132 yards in 35 carries, but the Knights defense stopped any big plays. On defense, junior Tayvion Ortman had 10 tackles, three of them for loss.

The Slicers travel to Chesterton Thursday, Sept. 16, for volleyball.

Chesterton now has an indoor mask mandate for non-players. If families are socially distanced (6 feet) and in their family unit, masks are not required.

The Slicers travel to Lake Central Wednesday, Sept. 15, for boys soccer and Saturday, Sept. 18, for JV football. Purchase tickets at one of these sites:



No at-the-door ticket sales.

Masks are optional for outdoor sporting events but are strongly encouraged.
