Extension Homemakers have tasks for you on Lend a Hand Day Sept. 21

If you can sew, cut, stitch, tie, sort iron, knit, crochet, pack, stack, or carry … the La Porte County Extension Homemakers need you on Tuesday, Sept. 21!

The Homemakers are hosting their Lend A Hand Day from 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Swanson Center, 910 State St., LaPorte.

Extension Homemakers and volunteers will assemble quilts, bags, backpacks, lap robes, wheelchair totes, birthday bags, hats, and many other items that will be donated to La Porte County residents through local service organizations.

Donations of fabrics, notions, thread, yarn and supplies are always welcome! If you can sew, bring your own sewing machine or use one provided.

Come for an hour or come for the day to help support our community. This important volunteer event is held four times a year to give the community an opportunity to pitch in and help make a difference.
