Learn native plants and how to grow them at free field day

Join the La Porte County Soil and Waste District for a free field day Oct. 14 that will address planning, preparation, establishment and maintenance of native plantings in our region. Come out to learn something new and see what makes a successful native planting!

The field day will take place from 2 to 4 p.m. at a private native habitat planting on CR-S 500W about 1/2 mile north of U.S. 6. A map and more detailed directions are available at the link below.

A field training on wildflower habitat establishment and maintenance will be presented by a variety of conservation-focused agencies: Indiana Department of Natural Resources, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Pheasants Forever, Natural Resources Conservation Service, and the soil and water district.
