In 1980, Dale started his career in funeral service after graduating from Worsham College of Mortuary Science. He married his wife, Tonya, in 1990 and they moved to La Porte in 1993 to join Cutler Funeral Home. Upon Bob and Cindy Cutler’s retirement in 2011, Dale and Tonya purchased the funeral home.

They were very active in the La Porte High School music program as their sons, David and Matthew, were both drum majors in the LPHS Band. David, who plays trumpet, recently graduated from Indiana Wesleyan University and now teaches at Justice Thurgood Marshall Intermediate School as the band instructor. Matthew, who plays saxophone and piano, is a sophomore at Indiana Wesleyan University. Both sons have been active with the La Porte City Band as well.

Dale is active with the Indiana Funeral Directors Association and is in his third year as a member of the La Porte County Symphony Orchestra Board. He continues his family’s love for the promotion of music in the lives of others.
