The New Prairie Cougars defeated conference opponent Penn, 17-7, on Senior Night, their final home game of the season.

The Cougars were led by a strong offense that has scored a combined 220 points against their opponents in eight games thus far. The Cougar defense also maintained its strong stance during the game, allowing only one touchdown to be scored by Penn, the perennial favorite for post-season victories. New Prairie’s only loss this season was against the Marian Knights.

The Cougars, along with the Knights and the Penn Kingsmen, are all vying for their share of the Northern Indiana Conference title with one loss each.

The Cougars will finish regular-season play at Elkhart Friday.
