UPDATE 9:15 a.m. Monday, Oct. 11:

From the sheriff’s office:

“Alan D. MORGAN has been located and is in custody of the La Porte County Sheriff’s Office.

“Thank you to our news media partners, the tipsters and our followers on our social media platforms for quickly circulating the information.”

Original story:

The La Porte County Sheriff’s Office is looking for Alan D. Morgan, 28, in connection with the death of a young child. Deputies found the child dead in a home in the 3100 east block of CR-875S in rural Union Township in the early morning of Oct. 11.

Morgan is possibly driving a red 2004 Ford Freestar minivan. The minivan is missing both passenger-side hubcaps and last known, had an expired Indiana temporary license plate. He is considered armed and dangerous, according to the sheriff’s office.

The child was found after a report of an unconscious child at about 2:45 a.m. today. According to the sheriff’s office, Deputies Michael Sweet and Austin Wells arrived at the home but no one answered the door. They then entered the house and found the child.

The sheriff’s office gave no information on cause of death or the child’s age or gender.

Police secured the area and after some investigation, developed Morgan as “person of interest.”

If Morgan or the minivan is located, citizens are encouraged not to approach him or the vehicle, but rather immediately call 911.

It is so sad to be seeing this in our news. Chicago has so much everyday, but at least YOU were able to take into custody the suspect. Thank you to the La Porte County Sheriff’s Dept and anyone who was willing to share information.

If the evidence leads to him and he’s found guilty, please ensure his punishment fits this crime. If the cause was accidental and there is supporting evidence, find the responsible person / persons! No child deserves to die at the hands of another!

As a parent I am furious. As a person I am disgusted.

No child should ever die at hands of anybody but especially not their own father. Your job as a parent is to love and protect them. This man is pure evil and doesn’t deserve to sit in prison. He deserves an expedited death penalty.

To the rest of that little boys family, my thoughts and prayers are with you.

Six feet tall and 165 pounds against a four year old child. What could that child do to protect himself from this monster? We as a society failed that little boy. RIP little angel.

Reading this is making me physically ill. When is the funeral for this poor little innocent soul? Is he even having one? He did nothing to anyone and spent what probably felt like an eternity in his short life in pain, agony, and fear. I’d like to get arrested to have a meeting with his “father”.

They are currently working on getting the funds for a proper funeral for sweet baby Judah. It looks like there is a link to the gofundme for the expenses.

To this poor little boys so-called “parents”.
Perhaps you should have spent more time loving and potty training your son, taking care of your dog, and cleaning up your disgusting living evironment.
Do us all a favor and give this scum the death penalty. This kind of cruelty deserves the harshest sentence available. A life sentence is NOT good enough.

I am deeply saddened to see this. Poor little Judah wanting love and to feel safe and to have fun. This is devastating. I mourn the friends he never got to make, the love he never got to have with a spouse and the kids and family of his own he got to make. How could no one in the family have known something terrible was going on? Look in on each other, folks. Especially the children. Rest in peace, sweet Judah.

Not necessarily. The general prison population does not take kindly to perps who have harmed children.

Being a mom of 3 children of my own this really pisses me off. The father must really feel like a BIG MAN doing what he did to a 4 year old child! I mean really come on how pathetic do you have to be to hit a child? No matter what a child does wrong there is NEVER EVER a reason for hitting them or hurting them. The mom is no better…. she let it happen!! Maybe if the mom would have notified police or made someone aware of this happening that little one would still be around. I am sorry but if someone was harming my child it would only happen 1 time and then would be the end of that! I hope the guy that did this to Judah is sentenced more than just life. He deserves much more. A child depends on their family for love and support. To feel safe and be happy.
