Fog didn’t dim kids’ fun at symphony’s Drayton children’s concerts

Dense fog Wednesday morning, Oct. 13, forced last-minute adjustments for the La Porte County Symphony Orchestra’s 33rd annual Drayton Family Children’s Educational Concerts.

With La Porte and some surrounding schools on a 2-hour delay, Michael Drayton had to do a little creative schedule adjustments to make sure students could still attend the annual program at the La Porte Civic Auditorium. And judging by the students’ enthusiasm, everyone – including orchestra members – had a good time.

New conductor Carolyn Watson led the ensemble. John Leinweber (light suit) narrated one of the musical stories.
